Let's Take The Lid Off Of Night Trading, Even Vampires Can Be Trading Futures

The sun has just set. It is the dead of night. A dog howls at the moon in the distance. Suddenly there is a creaky sound coming from the nearby graveyard. Slowly the crypt door opens and out walks a tall, slender man with a large black cape, eyes glowing. Is it Bela Lugosi? Nah...it's some night trader with a laptop come to trade emini futures.

Let's cut to the chase. Wal-Mart reported a rise in profits but only because of strong overseas revenue. Domestically in America, sales were down. Analysts had expected Wal-Mart to report earnings of $1.08 and they saw earnings of $1.05. Wal-mart's stock values fell. What does this say? It shows that Americans cannot even afford to shop at Wal-Mart any longer. Meanwhile, the Dollar Stores, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar are doing well. When Americans can no longer afford Wal-Mart, the granddaddy of all retail chains, there is a major problem in the country.

What is the "new normal" for American workers? Working two part-time jobs and being considered underemployed. Since the recession began, the number of people involuntarily working part-time has doubled to 9.3 million, (according to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics). These were workers who enjoyed a 2 week vacation every year. Now Sunday off is a welcome sight. Not only are these workers unable to find full-time employment, their pay range has been slashed by 10-20%. No wonder they cannot afford Wal-Mart.

Is there a solution to this problem. As we have seen, Wall Street has emerged from the recession victoriously. Salaries and bonuses for brokerage executives and CEO's are on steriods. Stocks across all sectors are reaching their 52 week highs. And Saks Fifth Avenue? They reported a huge rise in sales over their previous quarter's earnings. Yet manufacturing continues to suffer. In that same New York area, the Empire State Manufacturing Index shrunk to 11.9 down from 21.7, which itself was down from over 30 the previous month.

So how can a worker enjoy some of the fruits that WallStreet has to offer? Here the old saying appies..."if you can't lick 'em, join 'em". Learn night trading. Stop working that second job, and earn a living at home instead. Is it possible? Sure.

Let's look at the possibilities. Futures trade in what are known as "Ticks", or one price movement. One tick generally pays about $10 after commission. To be able to trade 1 contract (Futures trading is all about contracts instead of shares like stocks), you need $500. So say you can trade with 5 contracts, or $2500 investment. If you make 3 Ticks a night, you would make $150 a night after commission. Do that 20 days a month, and you are looking at $3000 a month. You could make 3 ticks in as little as 10 minutes. Take our taxes and losses, so how about $25,000 spendable a year. Would that make a difference to your life? Say a part-time job pays $15.00/hour, and you work 20 hours a week. That comes to $1200 a month, before taxes. And taxes are much higher for income than for trading, since trading revenue is considered capital gains. But the important thing is, wouldn't you rather be at home making the $3000, in your pajamas, without commuting, without a boss?

So take the lid off of your own crypt and learn night trading. Join the thousands of other vampires who can now afford to shop at Wal-Mart.
