Obama’s India visit

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Full story here. Did you really think Obama was leaving the country for 2+ weeks with his entire family, many top level staff, and 40+ aircraft to go to INDIA for a little sit down pow wow to discuss public toilets and the price of rice?! Aaaand doing all of  this earlier than planned? Whoop whoop! Tinfoil hat alert!! And it will only cost $200 million a day for this little jaunt.

Barack Obama’s trip to India next month will be the biggest by any US President – with a staggering 40 aircraft and six armoured cars.

Details of the elaborate arrangements for the tree-day presidential visit on November 6 were leaked to Indian newspaper earlier this week.

Forty aircraft – including the Air Force One military plane – and six heavily armoured cars will follow the president around the country.

It was first reported outside the country by a German newspaper that found it “suspicious” [my term]. It raised a few eyebrows to those with keen senses. But even more suspicious, was this trip was initially planned for November 12th and was moved to November 4th, plus the addition of many top level staff members who were not originally scheduled to go. Couple that with the fact that DC will be “empty” of TPTB and something seems fishy. Hmmmmmm

Suspicious packages found at various airports

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Full story here from Huffington Post.

Authorities on three continents are investigating whether suspicious packages shipped from Yemen to Chicago religious sites are part of a terrorist plot.

Officials were investigating whether two packages – one described as containing a toner cartridge with wires attached and powder – were mailed as part of an attempted attack or a dry run for a future attack.

No explosives have been found in the U.S. Packages in England and Dubai continue to be tested.

Me again. Read that last sentence again. NOTHING WAS FOUND. Suspicious (whatever that means) automatically means “terrorism”.  They keep dragging this old chestnut out so often, it’s lost its Cheney-fear-inducing luster. And here in San Francisco, your dear blogger was inconvenienced by a 1 1/2 hr bomb scare near the Jamba Juice. Hey folks, turns out it was nothing too! Sometimes a bag of dirty clothes is just a bag of dirty clothes. In summary, fuck this stupid shit. We don’t believe you anymore.

1 Nov -

Just headline for now from Reuters:

  • Greek police says 2 unexploded parcel bombs found on suspects, one addressed to Belgian Embassy
  • Greek police believes blast not linked to Al Qaeda, suspects may be linked to leftist Guerrilla
  • Greek police says one of package bombs intercepted in Athens addressed to French president Sarkozy
  • Greek police say both bombs are now diffused by controlled explosions

Deja vu of a certain archduke frolicking in southeast Europe and some such? No news if package originated in Yemen.

Another one bites the dust. Gen. James Jones leaving Obama. In other news– no joke– Whitehouse insiders have leaked that Mr. O is now on anti-depressants and has increased his smoking. That’s a great sign, isn’t it? When he buys one of those black “duster” coats and asks for one of the Marine guards guns, I might get a little worried.
