CME plans on trading Kospi

Monday, November 12th, 2007

The CME announced that it would begin offering the Kospi 200 futures contract on its Globex trading platform. The agreement, however, does not include the Kospi options. Very little trading is done on the Kospi 200. Most of the trading is the Kospi Options.

In speaking with the Chicago Board of Options Exchange, they said they had no intentions of offering Kospi Options to trade.

Shadowtraders moved one step closer to being able to offer Kospi Options trading to the public. Shortly a U.S. Clearing firm will be announcing that they will Clear the KRX options. This has stopped Shadowtraders from moving forward.

Additionally Shadowtraders is completing its efforts to chart the Korean options and provide a live datafeed. Stay tuned for future developments in this.
